Stacy Sakai

When Stacy began focusing on her art in the year 2000, she painted images from nature such trees and flowers - particularly the South American orchids she remembered from her childhood. She used uncluttered compositions and clean lines to emphasize colour and form. Her recent paintings are abstracts on larger canvasses, expressing intangible emotions and values.

"When I see or feel something I am compelled to paint, I strive to capture the impression or essence of it using the stimulating richness of colour to make the strongest impact. For me, painting is a sensual and emotional process, especially when I am able to express myself freely without the interference of the logical and analytical part of my mind."
