The Artists
Liza J. Lee was part of The Drift in 2005 and will participate in The Drift 2008, an annual art festival which takes place along Main Street in Vancouver. Liza was also featured as a chalk artist in "Chalk Art - No Mean Feet
Step on a crack, break your mother's back?" Local chalk artist likens the genre to Tibetan sand paintings for its simplicity, sophistication and temporary nature. Weather permitting, the images can last for weeks but, Lee sighs, "You can spend hours on a piece and then the wind can feather it away." Ascension Series by Liza J. Lee
Stacy Sakai is also participating in the Main Drift 2008. She will be exhibiting her latest paintings, including the Spectrum series. In this series, Stacy expresses her fascination with the electromagnetic spectrum and the zero point field of energy. The colours she uses span the visible portion of the spectrum, and her finger strokes wave through each painting as the energy we vibrate waves through the sea of light we exist in.
